Valentina Release 16.5 Now Available

Valentina Release 16.5 introduces Studio AI for SQL Editing

Also new Valentina Forms features, ValentinaDB enhancements.

Valentina Studio

Valentina Studio is the free, all purpose database management tool suite. Valentina Studio PRO adds more powerful diagramming features, more powerful visual builder tools for databases, forms creation, reports designer and more.

Improvements include:

  • [New] AI Chat in SQL Editor. Integrated into the SQL Editor is multi-provider (initially supporting Google Gemini and OpenAI) help to explain queries, suggest improvements, generate SQL, and more that you can copy and execute within the editor. Attach your database schema (full or partial) or the current query from the SQL Editor to get context-aware assistance.
  • [New][Forms] Exposed TabWidget properties and methods for access to QTabWidget properties and tab management methods in scripting bindings. Allows scripts to read and modify tab state, switch tabs programmatically, and manage tab behavior more flexibly.
  • [Imp][Forms] ToolButton popupMode. Adds the popupMode property to ToolButton. Determines how the ToolButton displays its menu: MenuButtonPopup, InstantPopup, DelayedPopup.
  • [Imp][Forms] ToolButton QMenu support.  Adds support for attaching a QMenu to ToolButton. ToolButtons can now display menus when needed in forms and scripts.
  • [Fix][Forms] setValue method of QSettings to correctly store values in forms.

Valentina Studio for Windows, macOS and Linux is licensed but free. Valentina Studio Pro is $199 per OS license and includes 12 months of free updates, but also with options to extend the license to up to three years. Valentina Studio Universal is a single license that works on all three operating systems and licensed on a user basis.

ValentinaDB

ValentinaDB is Paradigma Software advanced, object relational database and that is available in ValentinaDB Server (a part of Valentina Server) and ValentinaDB ADKs (developer components for adding runtime database support to applications).

Improvements include:

  • [New] External aggregation functions (C, Python, JS) and Aggregation UDF (SQL, Python, JS). Any aggregation function may be used in a window context.
  • [Imp]More external aggregation function examples in VSDK/Examples
  • [Imp]Add column MethodDeterministicLevel in GET/SHOW properties of calculated fields
  • [Imp] Performance improvements
  • [Imp] Unclear deterministic level warnings clarified
  • [Fix] Result of aggr_func( distinct …) producing new groups instead of counting distinct values inside each group
  • [Fix] deterministic level for skipped optional function argument (Const instead of Volatile) and list_itemcount(), size(), IsNormalized() (Immutable instead of Volatile)

You can use Valentina Server with five simultaneous connections for free on macOS, Windows and Linux. Standalone, commercial versions start at $299. Valentina Developer Network starts at $599 and allows unlimited redistribution of an OEM version of Valentina Server.

Valentina Database ADKs allow developers to embed ValentinaDB (and on some platforms, also SQLite and DuckDB) database engine into their applications and start at $199 per platform for royalty free redistribution.
