Release 18.4 follows a major update to the Valentina Platform with Release 18.

See the Paradigma Software release notes for a complete list of what’s new, improvements, changes and fixes.

Valentina Studio

Valentina Studio is the popular, free database and data source management suite of tools from Paradigma Software. Valentina Studio PRO adds advanced features to the Studio toolbox, including Report Designer and Forms Designer. In addition to a fresh appearance makeover and native UI integration improvements, Valentina Studio 18.4 adds new features:

  • [New][Query Editor] Changes to generated SQL are now highlighted in green after editing the diagram or builder grid. Use Query > Highlight Changes in the settings menu to enable or disable highlighting. The highlight adapts to light and dark themes.
  • [New][Query Editor] Added an Add Subquery toolbar button and explicit Query-card modes: Use as FROM SubQuery, Use in Expressions / Conditions, and Use in SET Operation.
  • [New][Query Editor] Cmd+Enter on macOS or Ctrl+Enter on Windows/Linux now applies edits from the SQL pane to the diagram.
  • [New][Query Editor] Table and view cards now show how many fields are hidden below the visible list. Double-click the bottom resize handle to fit the field list.
  • [Imp][Query Editor] Improved expression editing and subquery completion, with explanations for incompatible result-column counts and automatic closing parentheses for IN and EXISTS references.

Valentina Server

Valentina Server is a 5-in-1 solution that includes Valentina Reports Server and Valentina Forms Server, as well as three internal database servers: ValentinaDB Server, Valentina DuckDB Server and Valentina SQLite Server.

  • [New][Installation] Added unattended installation on macOS. Administrator setup accepts VSERVER_ADMIN_USER and VSERVER_ADMIN_PASSWORD. Fresh command-line macOS installations complete administrator setup and service startup through start_me.sh after installing the package.

Valentina Server is available in a free evaluation version, a single deployment version (starting at $299.99) and through the OEM developer program Valentina Developer Network (starting at $599.99). Available on Linux, macOS and Windows.

Valentina ADK for Java

Valentina ADKs for Java include Valentina Database ADK for Java (integrating DuckDB, SQLite and ValentinaDB database engines) and Valentina Reports ADK for Java (integrating a complete reporting engine). A free component also allows interfacing with Valentina Server. The local runtime versions start at $199.99.

  • [Imp][Build] Supports building with JDK 8 or newer, including the newest Java 27.

The products are immediately available for download from the Paradigma Software website.
