Get started today with this full featured three in one reports and database server under a permissive free license.
In discussing the benefits of Valentina Server with developers, I am always surprised how many are unaware that you can get a full featured version of Valentina Server, right now, for free. In fact, you can get three copies – one for each operating system – Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. This is what we call Valentina Server FREE (see the FAQ).
What’s the difference between this and the regular Valentina Server, or the Valentina Server you get with Valentina Developer Network (that lets you redeploy unlimited copies, royalty free)?
At the base technology level, there is no difference. All the same features are there, except connection capacity. With Valentina Server FREE, you get 5 simultaneous connections for Valentina DB Server, 5 simultaneous connections for Valentina Reports Server, and 10 simultaneous connections for SQLite Server.
What’s the catch? Where are the limitations?
It is in the licensing and in support.
With Valentina Server FREE, you need to rely on our community level of support, just like using Valentina Studio (the free version).
What you can do with Valentina Server FREE is based on your organization type.
- Non-profits & non-commercial academic organizations can deploy one copy of each operating system version of Valentina Server FREE per organization, either on a private network (Intranet) or on a public network.
- Private individuals and commercial entities can also use Valentina Server FREE, but with some additional restrictions. You can deploy one copy of each operating system version of Valentina Server FREE per organization on a private network (Intranet).
Non profits and non commercial academic organizations have very few limitations.
Private individuals and commercial entities can use it on their own internal network – and especially for developers – give them an opportunity to use a full featured version of Valentina Server during the months in which they develop commercial solutions. Once they are ready to expose their solution to the world, they can upgrade to a commercial version of Valentina Server – either a standalone (perfect for web services), or Valentina Developer Network.
