Valentina CLI

Valentina 18.1 introduces the first release of Valentina Command-Line Interface. The vcli command is included with Valentina Studio and Valentina Server packages and provides terminal-based access to local databases and Valentina Server.

  • [Database Engines] VCLI works with ValentinaDB, SQLite, and DuckDB
  • [SQL] Execute SQL from the command line, a file, standard input, or an interactive terminal.
  • [Output] Added terminal and machine-readable result formats.
  • [Unicode] Supports Unicode input and output on all supported platforms, including Cyrillic and supplementary Unicode characters in the Windows console.
  • [Shell] Added command completion generation for Bash, Zsh, and PowerShell.

Valentina Studio

Valentina Studio is the popular, free database and data source management suite of tools from Paradigma Software. Valentina Studio PRO adds advanced features to the Studio toolbox, including Report Designer and Forms Designer. In addition to a fresh appearance makeover and native UI integration improvements, Valentina Studio 18 adds new features:

  • [New] [VCLI] Valentina Studio packages include the first release of the vcli command-line SQL client.
  • [New][Form Editor] Added automatic navigation-button creation for SubForms, using the standard first, previous, next, and last-record icons.
    [New][Form Editor][TableView] Added scrollToTop() and scrollToBottom() methods for scripted table navigation.
  • [Imp][Query Editor] Added sorting and pagination to nested queries.
  • [Imp][Query Editor] Added database-specific pagination for SQL set operations.

  • [Fix][Query Editor] Clearing a query now resets DISTINCT, LIMIT, OFFSET, the SELECT grid, and the diagram as one Undo operation.

  • [Fix][Updates][ARM64] Fixed application update selection so ARM64 installations download the correct archive.
  • [Fix][Form Editor] Conversion of aliases stored by older Forms project formats.
  • [Fix][Form Editor] Saved queries appearing in the new-form wizard.
  • [Fix][Form Editor] Improved property and prototype handling while loading and executing Forms projects.
  • [Fix][SQLite][Schema Editor] When foreign keys are enabled, Studio disables SQLite foreign_keys temporarily while applying schema changes and restores them afterward.
  • [Fix][Data Editor] Fixed automatic opening of the related table according to preferences.

Valentina Server

Valentina Server is a 5-in-1 solution that includes Valentina Reports Server and Valentina Forms Server, as well as three internal database servers: ValentinaDB Server, Valentina DuckDB Server and Valentina SQLite Server.

  • [VCLI] Valentina Studio packages include the first release of the vcli command-line SQL client.
  • [Chg][Security] Added an explicit two-stage administrator bootstrap flow for new installations.
  • [Imp][Security] Administrator credentials can be supplied through VSERVER_ADMIN_USER and VSERVER_ADMIN_PASSWORD or through the [SETUP] section of vserver.ini.
  • [Imp][Installers][Docker] Linux, macOS, and Windows installers and Linux and Windows container entrypoints now bootstrap the administrator before starting the normal service.

Valentina Server is available in a free evaluation version, a single deployment version (starting at $299.99) and through the OEM developer program Valentina Developer Network (starting at $599.99). Available on Linux, macOS and Windows.

ValentinaDB

ValentinaDB is the advanced, post‑relational, extensible columnar database system deployed by ISVs, SaaS, cross-platform developers and vertical solution providers for over 20 years, that require an extremely fast data platform.

  • [Imp][Schema] Schema object names can now begin with a digit.
  • [Fix][SQL] Qualified field names in aggregate queries that use GROUP BY and HAVING.
  • [Fix][Index By Words] LIKE searches when a pattern contains spaces
  • [Fix][Schema] Error while maintaining the sysItemDescription system table after schema objects are deleted.

ValentinaDB is incorporated into Valentina Database ADK (a local database runtime) as well as Valentina Server.

Valentina for Xojo

The Xojo development environment supports multiple compile targets, including macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and more. Valentina Database and Reports ADKs are available for Xojo as standalone solutions for developers, and include a free CLIENT component for native integration with Valentina Server. Improvements include:
